Before You Train: What to Know

Arrive a few minutes early and let the coach know you’re new.
Ask questions—everyone starts as a beginner. If you have any concerns during training, let a coach know. 

Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Technique-focused grappling with an emphasis on learning, safety, and control. Beginners are always welcome and supported.

What to Expect
- Warm-up, instruction, drilling, and controlled sparring
- Paced learning and repetition, with respect, patience, and safety

What to Wear
- Gi, Rash Guard, and Belt (Gi Class)
- Rash guard or fitted athletic top(NoGi Class)
- Athletic bottoms without zippers, pockets, or metal (NoGi Class)
- Barefoot on the mat

What Might Help (Optional)
- Water bottle & Mouthguard

Hygiene Expectations
- Wear clean gear and freshly washed training clothes to every class
- Maintain good personal hygiene, including clean body and feet
- Keep fingernails and toenails trimmed
- Do not wear jewelry
- Avoid strong perfumes or cologne
- Do not train if you are sick or have skin infections or open wounds
- Wear shoes/slides off the mat 

Adult Kickboxing: focuses on pad, bag, and controlled partner drills, with no uncontrolled fighting; sparring is optional after 3 months of experience.

What to Expect
- Focus on technique, conditioning, and coordination
- Modifications provided for all fitness levels and experience

What to Wear
- Shorts and t-shirt or other comfortable athletic clothes
- Boxing or kickboxing gloves (available for purchase)
- Mouthguard (available for purchase)
- Shin guards
- Clean indoor only boxing shoes or barefoot (depending on class rules)

What Might Help (Optional)
- Hand wraps , Water bottle. Towel (you will sweat)

Judo:  Emphasis on throws, balance, grips, and safe falling.

- Structured, respectful, and progressive classes
- Strong focus on safety and partner awareness

What to Wear
- Judo or BJJ Gi and Belt
- T-shirt or rash guard underneath
- Barefoot on the mat

What Might Help (Optional)
- Water bottle; Patience—falls and movement take time to learn

Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: Classes focus on movement, confidence, and self-control

What to Expect
- Fun, structured, age-appropriate instruction
- Emphasis on listening, respect, and safety

What to Wear
- No-Gi attire (T-shirt or rash guard)
- Belt (provided or assigned)
- Barefoot on the mat

What Might Help (Optional)
- Water bottle
- Positive Encouraging Attitude from Parents/Guardians
- Consistent attendance for best progress

Hygiene Expectations
- Clean uniform, body, hair
- Trimmed nails
- No jewelry
- Notify coaches of any skin issues or injuries
- Kids should not train when sick
- Wear shoes/slides off the mat

Yes.  The drop in fee is $20.
